NEW MEMBER CHECK-OFF / ENGINE 271-272 INVENTORY

ll new members, all transfers, junior members, and any member of another department who wants to ride in an operational capacity shall complete section A. They will only perform functions from section A. They will not be counted as minimum staffing, until Section B is completed. Everyone is expected to complete the remainder of the check-off in a reasonable time. You will need to maintain the skills at all times. If you fail to complete the remainder of the check off in a reasonable time or maintain skills you will removed from riding. The Chief’s office will have the final approval.

Section A

Task Date Officer
Member shall have turned in a copy of CPR/AED, Infection control, Fit Test    
Completed VRS or equivalent    
Member shall know the equipment locations  
Member shall demonstrate hooking up the soft sleeve and charge the hydrant    
Member shall layout with the 3" and 4"-straight, split, and picking up dual lines    
Member shall use the hose clamp’s on 3" and 4"    
Member shall throw 10’, 12’, 24’ ladders-clean ladders    
Member shall demonstrate changing SCBA cylinders    
Member shall remove the deluge gun on both engines and set up    
Member shall change tips and nozzle on deluge gun    

To operate in the following areas and be counted as part of manning the following shall be completed by new members, and all transfers with F/F I, and F/F II

Member shall set up a foam attack line / using the inductor    
Member shall demonstrate using Irons, hydraulic forcible entry tools    
Member shall demonstrate the duck bill lock breaker and "K" tool    
Member shall demonstrate using Clemens and pike-poles    
Member shall explain the differences in rope bags, tie the family of "8’s"    
Member shall hoist hand tools, ladders, SCBA    
Member shall demonstrate using the meters    
Member shall demonstrate the port-a-power / Lukus tool    
Member shall demonstrate using the infection control kit    
Member shall have completed EMT or First Responder if joined prior to Jan 94    
Member shall complete F/F I, Will get EMT with in 30 months per CB 82
