of 3 tools jobs for the day.

The first tool job started in the 8500 blk of Temple Hill Road, in 25's area.

Companies arrived on scene to find a single vehicle accident with one into a pole.  The pole was split in half with the vehicle on its side with one person trapped.

Chief Hendley led the way with Para Tech Strut deployment, Hurst 32A's, Hurst Rams and Hurst Cutters.

Units:  E255, A259, SQ27, MD25, EMS14 and BC7 were alerted.

The second tool job was on W/B Suitland Parkway, between Branch Avenue and Silver Hill Road.  This was a single vehicle accident as well with one occupant trapped. 

The vehicle left the roadway down a ravine about 25 feet off the roadway.

Units:  E294, A299, MD29, SQ27, MD29, EMS14 and BC3 (McSwain) responded.  C27, Chief Hendley also responded.

 

 

January 14, 2007

Accident with One Pinned

 

Rescue Squad 27 was dispatched to 1800 Sandsbury Road in 37's area for a report of an accident with one person Pinned underneath about 0430 hours.

E371 arrived on scene to confirm the initial report.

This was a one vehicle accident involving an SUV on its side.  The child's leg was stuck in the SUV while the rest of the child's body was outside under the SUV.

RE33 and SQ27 arrived on scene at the same time and work together to get this child from under this SUV.  RE33 deployed Struts, chains and air bags while the Squad provided cribbing, lights and patient removal.

Units:  E371, A238, MD46, SQ27 and BC3 were dispatched.  BC1 and RE33 cleared their previous call and responded as well.

Trooper 2 was called to the scene for transport and E461 took care of the Landing Zone.

January 13, 2007

Accident with Ejection

 

Rescue Squad 27 was dispatched to the I/L on I495 south of Penn Avenue for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident with people ejected.

BC3 (Tharp) arrived on scene, requesting an alternate channel for operations with on vehicle on its side.  He also requested two helicopters.

The vehicle involved was a minivan with 8 people on board.  Several Patients were transported to local hospitals for evaluation.  Two of those patients were transported to local trauma centers.

Units:  E261, E371, A238, A279, MD46, EMS14, SQ27 and BC3 responded.

Accident with Extrication

Rescue Squad 27 was dispatched to an accident with a person trapped on the I/L I495 near Pennsylvania Avenue @ 0425 hrs.

C37 (Cunningham) arrived on scene advising that they had one person trapped but was a priority four.

After being cleared to do so, SQ27 extrication the priority four from the vehicle using the Hurst Spreaders, Hurst Cutters, Para-Tech Air Shores, Winch and Chains to properly stabilize and remove the victim.

Units cleared the scene @ 0649 hours.

Units:  E371, E261, SQ27, A269, A279, MD46, EMS1 and BC1 responded.

January 10, 2007

First Due House Fire

 

Rescue Squad 27, while clearing another call, was dispatched to a reported First Due House Fire with possibly someone having problems getting out at 4309 Allies Road @ 1804 hours.

C27A(White) arrived on scene with smoke showing, however with an odor of food on the stove, establishing command.

SQ27 and A279 arrived on scene shortly there after, assisting E261 on scene with a kitchen fire with some extension.  Some minor overhaul duties were performed.

This incident was quickly placed under control and the units cleared about 1832 hours.

Units:  E261, E231, E294, E212, TK25, TK32, SQ27 and BC3 responded.  E212 was replaced by E171 who cleared from another call.  TK5 responded instead of TK32.

C27A (White) responded and had command.

January 8, 2007

Townhouse Fire in District Heights

 

Rescue Squad 27 was dispatched to a reported Townhouse Fire in Co. 26's area about 0948 hours on this day. 

SQ27's Crew responded and assisted companies already on scene.

Units:  E261, E52, E294, E83, TK17, QT22, SQ27 and BC3 responded.

January 7, 2007

Accident with Extrication

 

                                  

Around 1854 hours, Rescue Squad 27 was dispatched for a car accident with injuries in the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Silver Hill Road in 26's area.

Units quickly arrived on scene to find a two vehicle accident with on person trapped. 

Rescue Squad 27 with a crew of 5 deployed cribbing for stabilization and the Hurst 32A spreaders for the door removal. 

Patient was removed from the vehicle and transferred into a waiting ambulance who further evaluated the patient for transport.

Crew cleaned up and was placed in service by Command at 1911 hours.

 SQ27: Lieutenant Hansen (OIC), F/F Johnson (OIC), F/F's Mayo, Dunn and Pickerton.

 

January 7, 2007

House Fire in Marlboro

 

SQ27 was dispatch by Public Safety Communications to a Box Alarm for a reported House on Fire in the 5900 blk of Old Crain Highway in Upper Marlboro @ 1006 hrs today.  The assignment consisted of companies from the 7th, 3rd and 2nd Battalions.

E20 and TK20 arrived on scene to find fire showing, holding all units. 

SQ27 arrived on scene and assisted the companies on scene as requested by command.

Units: E202, E451, E371, E231, TK20, TW43,
SQ27: F/F Trader (OIC), Chief Hendley (D/O), F/F's Mayo, Dunn and Pickerton

Squad 27 cleared about 1230 hours.

 

January 6, 2007

Accident with Extrication

         

                                  

Around 2000 hours, Rescue Squad 27 was dispatched, on its 11th call of the day, for a car accident with injuries in the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Silver Hill Road in 26's area.

Battalion Chief 3 (Bridges) arrived on scene to find a two car collision with one vehicle off the roadway. 

The vehicle that left the roadway was struck on the drivers door and required stabilization and door removal to safely and properly treat patient.

Rescue Squad 27 with a crew of 7 and 1 red helmet deployed cribbing for stabilization and the Hurst 32A spreaders for the door removal.  C27A (White) responded with the company.

Patient was removed from the vehicle and transferred into a waiting ambulance who further evaluated the patient for transport.

Crew cleaned up and was placed in service by Command.
