Fatal Apartment Fire with Injured Firefighter

I'm not sure if other departments know how it is to have one of your own injured in doing a job that we love to do, whether you  are career or volunteer.  It is difficult for us at Morningside.

Tim Omerod, a Career member of our department, was injured on the scene of a Apartment Fire on Donnell Place early this morning.

Tim, along with his partner Chris were two of the six personnel riding on this morning blaze.  Captain Lyon, Lt. Hansen, F/F's P Burley, Nelis and Symore were with them.

Tim was airlifted to MedStar Burn Center after the incident and looks to be in good shape at this point.

On behalf of Chief Hendley, President Phillips, The Officers, Board and members of the Morningside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., we want to wish Tim, his fiancé' Beth, his family and friends the best and let him know that he is in our prayers everyday and that we can't wait until he comes through our doors for duty again.
