I would like to welcome you to the Morningside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. official Web Site. Inside you will find information about our services, members, operations and news for our community. Your Volunteer Fire Department is a Community based Non-profit Organization. We are here to provide Fire and EMS Service and teach Life safety information that will help us protect you in the Community. I realize that in order to maintain a high level of service, confidence and to meet and understand your needs, that we must form a partnership. We have already started doing this by working with the Town of Morningside, Morningside Police Department and the Skyline Homeowners Association. I welcome any and all other community leaders and organizations to join the partnership. I invite all of you to stop by and meet your Volunteers, and to have questions answered as they relate to Fire and Life safety, or maybe something as simple as having your Blood Pressure checked.
Your Volunteers are committed to those of you that live and work in our response area. We will continue to focus on Community education and safety. We provide first response to medical emergencies with our Emergency Medical Technicians, and provide mitigation of fires, hazardous materials and heavy-duty rescue incidents. Our Volunteers also provide these services to the adjoining communities in southern Prince George’s County.
The Morningside Volunteer Fire Department is staffed by over 45 dedicated hard working Volunteer firefighters. We all have other full time jobs and families, but are here to answer your call. Our volunteers do not receive any money for service rendered. We have eight committed Volunteers that live at the station, to ensure that you and you family are protected.
Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department staffs our station during the day, Monday through Friday from 7:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon with four personnel. At 3:00 pm Monday through Friday and on the weekends, we have two Career Members. They assist the volunteers in supplementing staffing during our normal work hours.
In closing, I would like to thank all of my Volunteer firefighters for their dedication, exemplary performance and professionalism that they display every day. Our Community support in our fund raising effort has been great, and our department would like to say thanks.
